Shelved Display Unit

We were invited to design a bespoke unit for a specific space in a home, it was to include a variety of storage in order to hide away day-to-day items as well as feature a showcase shelving display for meaningful items from our clients’ life and travels.

Having seen the patterned plywood we create, our clients were excited to feature the art deco pattern for the lower doors, these were made as sliding doors so that they didn’t hinder the space in front of the unit and maximise floor space around the other furniture that would sit next to this piece.

The shelving is fixed and backlit by subtly hidden LED light strips that are in a warming glow to add more texture to the area and illuminate the washed plywood finish.

There is a touch sensitive switch hidden underneath the corner of the unit top so that you simply have to tap the top to turn all of the lights on - this is very cool, even if we do say so ourselves!
