We create bespoke furniture for your home or workplace, tailored to your needs for maximum efficiency and functionality in your space.

About

We think of furniture and product design not as singular practices, but as several interlocking ones. We interact with design on a daily basis, whether we know it or not. This interaction can change your state, dictate your mood, solve a problem or cause one. Human interactions are inseparable from design, function is inseparable from use, so improving human relationships with form + function is our ultimate goal for any project.

Aesthetic movements come and go. We focus our designs on the essential to the exclusion of all else, and so far we have found this principle to deliver time and again.

We specialise in Baltic birch plywood known for its stunning look and feel when sanded and oiled. This versatile material complements any living or work space. Alongside this, we explore recycled and up-cycled materials for unique styles and finishes and use Valchromat to craft bold, colourful statement pieces while maintaining clean designs. We also work with traditional timbers, tailoring every choice to your needs.

Our approach is simple and client-focused. We begin with a conversation to understand your vision, ensuring our designs align with your requirements. We value clear communication, timeliness, and honesty, presenting our ideas transparently and realistically.

Rather than striving to be the cheapest, we focus on delivering the highest quality, with meticulous attention to detail shaped by thousands of hours of experience. Crafting bespoke pieces takes time, and we always provide an honest timeline, keeping you informed if adjustments are needed.

With a background in product design, innovation and manufacturing — and a lifelong passion for woodwork — we pour the same care and precision into your project as we would our own. From working our parents and grandparents workshops as children to our own property renovations and building projects, a love for the craft and obsession with detail define our ethos.

Client words

  • "Our custom 'nook' surpassed expectations, Adam from Parallel Workshop helped to create the home of my dreams. I had an idea of how I wanted it to feel - he translated my mental images into reality.

He listened carefully and designed three bespoke areas of my house - the entrance hall (complete with hidden door and bespoke storage), kitchen and dining 'nook' (with built-in storage under bench seating, beautiful kitchen cabinetry, and design flairs I couldn't have dreamed), and living space (with visually pleasing and utilitarian shelving, media unit and the most amazing sofa arm side tables).

I could not be happier. Highly recommend!”

  • “It is rare to find a skilled and talented team who do an outstanding job whilst also treating your home with such care and respect: this is Parallel. Once our kitchen-diner extension was completed, we needed help with the finishing touches.

We chose Parallel because of their reputation for delivering a high quality, stylish finish. Adam visited our home at our convenience, listened carefully to our ideas and was able to offer creative solutions to design problems. Over two weeks, the team worked diligently and considerately in our home, ensuring it was clean and tidy for us to use each evening after busy days at work. They were communicative, keeping us up to date with the project, leaving us reassured and confident.

The finish was stunning; we get so many compliments about the tiling, the beautiful joinery and clever carpentry work. We’ve happily passed on Parallel Woodwork Studio’s details to many friends and family, safe in the knowledge that they won’t disappointed.”

    Hannah, Park Street

  • “You have created such a beautiful home for us, I can not tell you how much you surpassed my expectations and vision.

Having the CAD drawings to visualise the finished space was instrumental in being able to relax and trust that it would be wonderful in the end, because there was a lot of mess to begin with!”

Our logo

It may not be too obvious though you might be able to see where the inspiration for our logo comes from - the beautiful linear aspect of plywood paired with the triple elements of the three 'L's and 'E' in Parallel whilst highlighting the all encompassing nature of what we do with a full circle, which also forms the 'P'.

When design is at the forefront of what you do and love then a logo really has to capture this, we're very happy with how this was created. Care and attention to detail, something we strive for in every aspect of our work.
