The National Trust’s
Nostell Priory
This was a collaborative project with Journal.Studio, we were asked to help bring to life their vision and designs for the new Glasshouse display at the historic property in Wakefield.
The Glasshouse serves as an exhibition space and this project showcases a fascinating display of plants connected to Sabine Winn's interest in medicinal botany, highlighting the historic uses of plants for healing, wellbeing and everyday life.
The was a desire for something striking in visual appeal and rich in colour for the various display planters so with this in mind we chose Douglas Fir to give the pieces presence and stature within the beautifully airy and light room.
We designed each piece to be made up of separate sections so they could all be dismantled and relocated for future projects or used elsewhere, giving future life to the pieces beyond this initial project.
